I am sure you have searched on Amazon, and you have found a vast number of accessories on the site. I will help you narrow down the accessories I would recommend and personally use.
Recommended Accessories for DJI Mini 3
Drone
First of all, this recommendation is for a DJI Mini 3, and it’s currently the latest model of the DJI Mavic Mini Series. If you are looking into purchasing the Mini 3 drone, I would recommend getting it with the Fly More Combo. It comes with the DJI bag, Two-Way Charging Hub, two additional Intelligent Flight Battery on top of the normal one with three batteries, and all the other accessories. The additional batteries are convenient when you need to fly an additional 30 to 60 minutes of flight without recharging after each flight, as each can cost about $80.
However, you have another option where you can buy a used DJI Mini 3, and they cost around $500 to $600 with the fly more combo. Learn more on how to buy a used drone.
Bag
If you didn’t buy the Fly More Combo, you will need a decent bag to keep your drone and accessories in one place. I would recommend the bag that comes with the combo.
Batteries and Charging Hub
Propellers
If you didn’t buy the Fly More Combo, you will want to have some spare propellers, especially when you turn them into weed whackers.
Filters
Have you noticed how some of the professional movies looked very cinematic? A lot of it has to do with the ND filters. The filters are great for an environment with very bright sunlight and help balance the camera settings. I would recommend the two brands, which are Freewell and DJI.
External Storage
The next item is good external storage which acts as a backup for all your Memory cards. A couple of things could go wrong such as losing your drone and with it all your pictures and videos on that memory card still in the drone. Another thing is that you misplaced your memory card and everything is lost. Having good decent external storage acts as a backup for all your memories.
Memory Storage
To use an SD card with DJI Mini 2, you need to make sure that the SD card meets the following requirements:
- The SD card should be UHS-I U3 (Meaning Speed Class 3) and should have a minimum write speed of 30MB/s or above.
- The maximum storage of the SD card can’t exceed 256gb as that’s the maximum supported by DJI Mini 2.

Sun Shade
Some days you might be flying your drone during a super bright day and you wish that you have some kind of shade on your phone while flying it. Look no further as I can recommend you the sun shade from STARTRC.
Strobe Light
Some of us fly our drones when the sun sets or during the late evening, and the FAA requires you to have a strobe light attached to your drone. I found this strobe light to do what I needed to get me compliant.
Software (DJI Fly Replacement)
I hear people complaining about the DJI Fly missing the most important features, like Follow Me and Active Track. Look no further, and I found the perfect software. It’s called Litchi, and it’s compatible with DJI drones.
However, when I wrote this article, it was unavailable on DJI Mini 3 as it was due to DJI not releasing the Software Development Kit (SDK) until May 2023.
As of August 26, 2023, Litchi is currently working on a beta pilot version for DJI Mini 3, Mini Pro, and Mavic 3 Enterprise. The new Litchi Pilot BETA is available for pilots who already own the previous Litchi app (On Android or IOS).

The Litchi mobile App runs on Android and IOS devices like iPhones and tablets. I tested them on Samsung A20s, Samsung A22, iPhone X, iPad 2, and iPhone 4.
